Looking for a job in current marketing world?

To search for a job you have to apply the marketing skills that you have learned from a particular course, now a days online courses and certifications are on trend you can easily find various types of marketing courses online with certification.

Following are the steps for marketing yourself:

A. Do a self assessment and find career counselling: Self assessment plays major role in your career but you should be honest in examine your interests, weakness, strength say for an instance, which one is your favorite skills? , which task you love the most? or what is your career goal ? etc.

B. Analyze job description: After doing self assessment you can identify your skills, strengths , weakness, then you have to analyze which marketing position is suitable for them . You have to be open for your skills ,not only looking for a public sector you should also look for private, national and even international firms. Don’t bind you in only one sector. Be open.

C. Explore job and grab opportunities: There are various platforms to grab opportunities. For example: Internships, various websites for job hunting on internet, job fairs, professional sites like LinkedIn, Google, Indeed etc.

D. Develop search strategies: When you search a particular company where you are interested in you need to contact them. Also many companies come in your college however not every company come to your college in these kind of situation you should mail them directly.

E. Learn how to make resume: Make a simple but effective resume. Keep in mind that resume is all about candidate strengths and capabilities but not on weaknesses. In making of a resuming you have to be sure that all the details mention over are accurate. Resume begins with full name, telephone number, email address. Then your career objectives, then educational background(write a percentage if you score good in academics otherwise don’t put your scores). Then awards, internships and then personal activities.

F. Write a cover letter and additional documents for support: Cover letter is organized as follows- 1. put name and position of the person you are contacting 2. mention job profile you are looking for , how you know about the vacancy 3. summary of your qualification 4. description 5. gratitude for the opportunity of being an applicant for this job.

G. Give an interview for jobs: Sayings said “The resume gets you the interview, the interview gets you the job”. The company offers you an opportunity to collect more information about their company also at the same time you allow the company to collect more data about you as well. You should present your best self.
